Information Note on the EU AI Act

The European Union's ("EU") Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) No. 2024/1689) (“AI Act”) introduces the first legal framework in the EU for the ethical and secure development of artificial intelligence (“AI”), ensuring compliance with human rights and the AI Act has been published in the EU Official Journal on 12 July 2024 to be effective as of 1 August 2024

The AI Act classifies AI systems by risk levels, imposing obligations that align with these categories to minimize risks of the AI systems.
