Information Note on EU Pay Transparency Directive

The Directive (EU) 2023/970, known as the “Pay Transparency Directive” (“Directive”), which was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 17 May 2023 and entered into force as of 6 June 2023, stands as an important tool for achieving gender equality in the workplaces and eliminating pay disparities. 

The Directive provides a comprehensive legal framework designed to enhance the enforceability of the “equal pay for equal work” principle and bolster transparency mechanisms to combat pay discrimination.
