Significant Amendments to the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency

Significant amendments have recently been introduced to the legislation on the protection of the value of the Turkish currency through the Communiqué No. 32/72 issued by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, published in the Official Gazette dated 6 March 2025 and numbered 32822, and the Presidential Decree No. 9595 published in the Official Gazette dated 15 March 2025 and numbered 32842.

These amendments covers the possibility to determine movable property sale prices in foreign currency, restrictions on foreign derivative transactions, guarantees in foreign currencies, and the taking abroad of cash Turkish Lira.
