Draft Amendments to the Internet Domain Names Regulation
Pursuant to the Information and Communication Technologies Board’s (“Board”) Decision dated 13 September 2025 and numbered 2025/DK-BTD/300, a Draft Regulation (“Draft Regulation”) amending the Internet Domain Names Regulation has been released for public consultation. The Draft introduces key changes, including the establishment of the Domain Name Sales Platform (“DNSP”), the introduction of an allocation-right mechanism, and clearer rules to prevent domain name system abuse. Once in force, these amendments will significantly reshape the framework governing the sale, allocation and transfer of “.tr” domain names.
