Amendments to Independent Audit Thresholds and Criteria
The Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority has published a Board Resolution in the Official Gazette dated 7 May 2026 and numbered 33246, regarding amendments to the procedures and principles on the determination of companies subject to independent audit.
The amendments have been introduced in line with the threshold changes set forth under Presidential Decree numbered 11066 dated 17 March 2026. The Resolution clarifies that companies will become subject to an independent audit where at least two of the relevant threshold criteria are exceeded for two consecutive fiscal years, without requiring the same criteria to be exceeded in both years.
The Resolution also revises the rules regarding exit from the audit scope and clarifies the financial statements to be taken into account during periods in which inflation accounting is applied. In addition, Temporary Articles 2, 3, and 4 have been repealed. The amendments entered into force as of the publication date.
